Students in Senior Cycle have the option to pursue a one year Transition Programme followed by a two year Leaving Certificate
Transition Year Programme
The Transition Year Programme is designed to provide a broad education experience aiming to foster maturity and aid future studies. Areas covered include Media Studies, Information Technology (with a view to sitting ECDL exams), Home Economics, Geography, Business, Irish, English, Mathematics, German, Horticulture and Local History, Art, Religion, Environmental Studies, First Aid and Road Safety.
Work Experience is an integral part of the year.
Leaving Certificate Programme
Every student must take the following subjects :
Irish English Mathematics German
Three subjects can be chosen from the following range:
Business Chemistry History
Agricultural Science Biology Geography
Physics Technical Drawing Construction
Home Economics Accounting
Every possible effort will be made to facilitate students choice but this can not be guaranteed.
LCVP Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme
Students with specific subject combinations are eligible to participate in LCVP

Extra Curriculum Activities
Ennistymon CBS participates in a wide range of sporting activities including Gaelic Football, Hurling, Soccer, Basketball and Athletics. Gaelic Football traditionally has been the mainstay at the school.
Football teams have been successful in capturing Clare and Munster titles.
Hurling is a relatively new development in the school. The school has fielded teams in the Clare First Year and Junior Leagues.
The school also fields Soccer teams in the Clare Junior (U13) and Senior Clare Schoolboys Leagues and were Clare Schoolboys Champions (2001) and (2003).
In Athletics the school competes at Clare, Munster and All-Ireland Level.
This year the school Basketball team competed and reached the final in the U16 and U19 South Western Basketball League.
The school also competes in Munster Schools Golf competition.
